You act like we don’t need it. 

I remember my middle school ended at 4:05 or something. It was just how the county structured dismissal so school buses could do routes. I didn’t think much of it.

Guys, we NEED education reform. And, though some folks (*cough Waiting for Superman cough*) try to make charter schools seem like the only answer, the vast majority of children will still be educated in public schools. Don’t get me started on how many charter schools are unsuccessful and vouchers are not the answer! If the school day needs to be lengthened to help with educational success, fucking deal with it. Besides, you may find some college classes begin after 4:00 and many work days sure as shit end after 4:00.

I’m the child of a public school teacher. Education is kind of My Signature Issue.

I went to a charter school, and while it was known for it’s good scores, a lot of the students also had trouble. 

And I agree. I’d take longer days over stupid people any day kthnx. 

^^Oho, never thought of it that way. I just assume that if people don’t want to take advantage of the learning they’re already getting, they definitely wouldn’t want it if the days were longer.

I guarantee a longer school day will not make for less stupid people.
